Privacy & Data Use

Compass Magazine has been published in Taichung since 1996. We follow Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (個人資料保護法, "PDPA") and applicable US privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA) for readers in those jurisdictions.

What we collect

• Newsletter signups — your email, opt-in time, and the issue you subscribed from. Stored until you unsubscribe.
• Aggregate analytics — anonymized page views and referrers, only after you opt in via the consent banner.
• Embedded content — maps, video, and social embeds inside articles. None loads until you opt in.

Cross-border transfer (PDPA Art. 21)

Compass Magazine runs on Cloudflare's global edge network. Your visit may be served from a Cloudflare data center outside Taiwan, including the United States. The underlying database (Cloudflare D1) is hosted in the Asia-Pacific region, but edge cache and request logs may transit US-based infrastructure.

Retention

Newsletter records: until unsubscribe. Server logs: 30 days. Aggregated analytics: 14 months.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data at any time. Email privacy@compassmagazine.tw.

You can change your consent choices any time using the "Privacy preferences" link in the footer.

Compass Magazine（康百視雜誌）自 1996 年起於台中發行，遵守台灣個人資料保護法，並對美國加州讀者適用 CCPA/CPRA。

我們蒐集的資料

• 電子報訂閱—電子郵件、訂閱時間、訂閱來源期數。保留至你取消訂閱為止。
• 匯總分析—匿名化的瀏覽量與來源，僅在你透過同意條款啟用後才會記錄。
• 嵌入內容—文章內的地圖、影片與社群嵌入內容。未經同意一律不載入。

跨境傳輸（個資法第 21 條）

Compass Magazine 運行於 Cloudflare 全球邊緣網路。你的請求可能由台灣以外的資料中心提供服務，包含美國境內節點。資料庫主機（Cloudflare D1）位於亞太區，但邊緣快取與請求日誌可能經過美國基礎設施。

保留期間

電子報資料：直到取消訂閱。伺服器日誌：30 天。匯總分析：14 個月。
